Dr Ian Horsley has been a physiotherapist for over twenty five years. In that time he has spent a considerable amount of time working with sportsmen and women.

He worked as a physiotherapist for England Rugby Union, for 14 years, in with various teams, and spent the last 6 years working with the Elite Playing squad, as a physiotherapist to England 'A'. Dr Horsley has worked as a part of the HQ medical team for Team England at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games, as well as having been a member of the Team GB HQ medical team at the 2012 Olympic Games.

His clinical interests are management of acute musculoskeletal trauma and rehabilitation, having a specific interest in the shoulder. Dr Horsley has completed a Master's degree in Sports Physiotherapy. As part of his PhD, he conducted research on the musculoskeletal causes of shoulder injuries within professional rugby. He is currently reviewing the role of physiotherapy within the management of musculoskeletal injury.

Dr Horsley is an associate lecturer at Salford University having produced more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and is a member of EUSSER Education Committee.
