As a consultant hand, wrist and elbow surgeon, Mr David Hargreaves treats a wide range of degenerative and traumatic conditions in adults and children. He specialises in minimal access surgery.
Mr Hargreaves studied at Middlesex Hospital Medical School and undertook his surgical training at Kings College Hospital and St Mary's. He completed a Hand Fellowship in Sydney, Australia with Clinical Fellowships at the Mayo Clinic, USA, and Schultess Clinic, Zurich.
Mr Hargreaves has a special interest in arthroscopic procedures of wrist and elbow and research interests include wrist instability and elbow injuries. A keen amateur sportsman himself (golf, tennis coach, sailing and skiing), Mr Hargreaves understands the importance of technical excellence. He has developed an expertise in the management of sports injuries of the upper limb from a wide range of sports, including international cricket, hockey, rugby, football, sailing and golf. He also has experience with the management of musicians and performing artists, and fully recognises the importance they place on manual dexterity.
Mr Hargreaves' recent and current appointments include Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Society of Surgery of the Hand and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.
