Dr Mark Myerson is an internationally-recognised leader in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He has developed numerous breakthrough procedures for treating various foot and ankle injuries and deformities. In addition to his active clinical practice, Dr Myerson travels frequently around the world as part of a humanitarian program for underprivileged and disabled citizens with deformities, simultaneously teaching and enabling surgeons in those countries to continue care of these patients.
He has authored more than 200 research publications, as well as four text books covering various treatments of foot and ankle conditions. He is also a frequently invited guest speaker, giving professional talks around the globe as consultant and educator. Dr Myerson has trained hundreds of residents and surgeons, and education of surgeons continues to be integral to his work.
Dr Myerson is a past President of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), as well as the Maryland Orthopaedic Association. He is a consultant to the orthopaedic industry, an honorary member of numerous international orthopaedic societies, and plays an active role in defining national standards for orthopaedic foot and ankle practice.
